Description |
Matchbook, found in the walls of the house at 17 Becker Lane during the 2002-2003 restoration. It says "Twenty 'Salesmen' " on the front with an image of a man in a tux with a stage curtain half open to reveal matches. The matchbook was produced by the Diamond Match Company (New York City; general sales office, Chicago). Matchbook is one of a number of objects found at the same time, in the same way. Objects are catalogued together due to their provenance. Further research and comparison with the other objects in the cache should help shed light on this. |
