Description |
Exterior view of the front of the Lower School, New Castle, about 1950. Children and a parked car are in front of the building. This school contained one classroom downstairs and one classroom upstairs. Grades 1, 2, & 3 were downstairs with Mrs. Pearl Woodeson as teacher and Grades 4, 5 & 6 upstairs with Mrs. Thompson, teacher. The largest boy in the 6th grade had the duty of weighing down the fire escape at the back. The school yard was in back of the building. |
