This folder is labeled 1766 and contains 8 documents. A: Mr. Stephen Batson's account with the town for 1766 B: A list receipts received of Mr. Stephen Batson which he received of sundry persons on account of their taxes for the year 1766 - which sums they paid the Reverend Stephen Chase. Christopher Amazeen Edward Card William Jones John Simpson George Frost Esquire Signed Joseph Frost, Trd. C: Meshach Bell, Jr. account with town for 1766 A note asks Mr. Stephen Batson to pay the bill and charge it to the town account and is signed 2 March 1767 by Joseph Frost, George Frost, Henry Prescott. Another note says the money was received by Meshach Bell Jr. D: A list of payments made to Sampson Sheafe for keeping the school. Payments are dated from 1760 to 1774, and the document was signed on 8 May 1795 by Thomas Bell and Sampson Sheafe. Joseph Frost Esquire is also listed as paying the 1766 bill. Mary Sheafe also signed as having received payment for several years. E: A statemenet of money Stephen Batson paid from tax collections and money Stephen Chase paid from his collections, as well as a statement of a bill paid from Samuel Wallace for work he did on the bridge. Signed Joseph Frost F: Stephen Batson's account with the town for 1765 dated 13 January 1766, signed by Joseph Frost, George Frost, and Henry Prescott. There is a note that Mr. Batson received payment from Henry Prescott on 26 October 1767. G: Typed document from George Jaffrey, the Treasurer and Receiver-General of his Majesty's province of New Hampshire. This is a treasurers warrant for the town of New Castle, dated 2 August 1766.
